  2. Should You Buy a Carrot Juicer?

    With summer here, you might be thinking of getting outside more and enjoying the fresh air and the hot sun. One thing that summer also brings with it though is less clothing! And for many of us, less clothing brings with it one more caveat: the desire to eat, drink, and live healthier.

    One of the best ways I’ve discovered to establish a healthy habit is also one of the tastiest. I’m talking about getting a carrot juicer! Now, truth be told – just about any juicer will work with carrot, thus all juicers are carrot juicers, but the point is that I pretty much make nothing but delicious carrot juice with my juicer, so I like to think of it my carrot juicing machine.

    Why do I like it so much?

    1. It’s cheap.
    You can buy huge bags of organic carrots at Krogers and other grocery stores. I’m talking 20 pound bags! For that kind of bulk, and since it’s organic, you’d expect it to be super expensive but it’s actually only $25. In fact, you can often find it on sale for $20 which is great because a bag this big will often last long enough until the next sale comes around.

    2. It’s quick.
    It doesn’t take a lot of time to get out the carrots and juice. There’s basically no prep work. You might cut off the ends of them and depending on your juicer (Breville, Omega, etc) you may have to chop the carrots into smaller chunks, but it’s a painless task. It’s always good to find healthy habits that also don’t consume all your time, and juicing fits the bill perfectly with that one!

    3. It’s delicious.
    Fresh carrot juice tastes a lot better than any other carrot juice you’ve had. It’s got an amazingly pure taste to it – it’s strong, and you can literally feel a boost of energy after drinking it. You can sweeten it with a chunk of apple or pretty much any fruit, too, if you prefer a sweeter drink.

    So with summer around the corner, should you buy a carrot juicer? If you’re asking me, the answer is most definitely – yes!

  5. Perfume Review: Animale Azul by Animale Parfums for Men

    Animale Azul for men by Animale Parfums was launched in 2005, the first one after a break of five years of the brand from the perfume market (the last one had been Chaleur d’Ánimale in the year 2000). The advertising campaign of this perfume is focused around the idea of seduction, in the form of a game between man and woman.

    The opening has a classic base of water, juniper with neutral fruits at first, and then more powdery notes of garden flowers. In the middle phase, the same notes remain, with a new layer of orange blossom and violet (or lavender). The overall style here is slightly tropical, until about the second hour, when juniper feels more intense, and powdery notes between violet petals and spices. In the final phase, the idea if water with juniper reminds parts of Green Irish Tweed for men by Creed or Parfum Paco Rabanne One Million, with less intense notes of orange blossom.

    The fragrance is more masculine than the others by Animale, with a classic aroma, which feels more relaxed, also thanks to the base of water (the blue glass bottle indeed reminds of Polo Blue by Ralph Lauren and Laguna Homme by Dali, which have the same attitude). This kind of style makes it suitable for a daily use, especially during the summer, and with a marked social disposition. In the office, the aroma will catch attention, and will be easily remembered, thanks to its non-complex notes within the family of juniper. On the night side, the fragrance will be clean and young and especially at ease in semi-informal scenarios. On the romantic side, it will be fresh and slightly addictive.
